 More Information
Area Information : The County of Dorset and Sherborne, its ancient capital, is rich in history, culture and interest - far too much to include in this brief introduction. Where could one start? Stonehenge? The New Forest? Our castles ''old'' and the ''new''? built for Sir Walter Raleigh who found the ''old'' (even though a gift from his grateful Queen) a bit on the uncomfortable side. Our park, laid down by Capability Brown, and one of the loveliest you could wish to see... and our Cathedral, now an Abbey from when Sherborne was a city. We maintain a library of information for the use of our guests and any advice we can offer derived from our local knowledge and love of this beautiful part of the country is yours for the asking.
